ALL THINGS JEWELS - June Newsletter

Hello everyone.

Welcome to the Sorrell Jewels June Newsletter!

I hope you have all been enjoying the sunshine, drinking lots of iced coffee and of course stacking those fingers with LOTS of jewels! 💍

Everything has felt super busy lately for me and all things Sorrell Jewels. I feel so blessed to have so much going on and to be able to take part in so many exciting opportunities.  It really seems like the small biz community is thriving and that being stuck at home for 2 years is making us all want to get out and enjoy each other!

After May being the most successful and busy month ever for Sorrell Jewels I’ve been trying to take some time to recharge and rest to avoid getting completely burnt out. One of the things I’ve been learning the hard way when it comes to running Sorrell Jewels is being able to say no. And not beat myself up for it every time.

Running a business means managing all my time, and ultimately making all the decisions too. As someone who also has a chronic illness too, juggling these can be super difficult. One thing I’m really learning to do is to TRUST MY GUT. Whether that be deciding which influencers to work with or which events to take part in. Anyway, let's dive into what I’ve been up to over the last month.

The May Ring Box

Earlier this month, I finally had my university graduation ceremony, 2 years after finishing my degree. It really got me thinking about what my life would look like and even whether Sorrell Jewels would exist without the pandemic. I am someone who believes that certain things are meant to be, and I think Sorrell Jewels would have been born one way or another.

It was a surreal experience speaking to people I hadn’t seen in 2 years. When being asked what I’ve been up to since finishing university it was mind blowing to think Sorrell Jewels simply didn’t exist before. A lot has happened in 2 years and I’m actually feeling pretty proud about how far things have come.

Markets, Pop Ups

& All Things IRL

It seems crazy to think that my first ever market was 6 months ago! Since then I’ve taken part in almost 20 markets! Markets and pop ups are such an exciting opportunity. From meeting new customers, chatting with other small business owners, occasionally making purchases and drinking lots of coffee they are so much fun. In all honesty I didn’t think my health would allow me to manage doing them so frequently, but I love it and having the day after off always help me to get back on track.

During the second half of May I took part in several fantastic events. First up was the Wasted Chic X Bohemia Place market ove a whole sunshine filled weekend. Spending two days surrounded by an amazing amount of brilliant small businesses is my idea of heaven. Thank you so much to each and every one of you that came down to check it out and shop from the latest drop of jewels 💎

Next up, I was lucky enough to be invited back to the next instalment of the West Carolina Hackney Pop Up. We had an unreal launch party and possibly even too much fun. Getting to take part in such an amazing and supportive event was a dream come true for me and my small brand. The fact that places that West Carolina even exist is fantastic, and even better when amazing people like Ana choose to support and stock a selection of unique and colourful brands.

Finally was the end of the Wild Thing & Co Bristol Pop Up, and it seems like Sorrell Jewels was a hit in Bristol as it was my most successful Pop Up to date. During the first week of the pop up I was able to head to Bristol to visit the shop and deliver some more rings. I think what makes this event so special is the thought that goes into the displays, design and decoration of the store. From butterflies, sequins and fairy lights this shop has it all. It’s so nice to see how much effort and thought goes into the design of the store and I can’t wait to do another one in future!

June Small Biz Obession

For this month's Small Biz Obsession I want to talk to you guys about Whering. Whering is a really exciting digital wardrobe app I’ve been experimenting with for a few months now. Due to some of my health issues, I find it really exhausting and difficult to try on lots of different clothes and outfits so when I found Whering I was super excited to try it out! It did not disappoint at all and the fact I can add rings and other accessories to each outfit makes it perfect.

It is so fun to play around with styling and to experiment with different kinds of outfits. For me, including jewellery into each outfit is what makes it so great. Rings can completely elevate and make a look unique.

I highly recommend you guys check out the app! Add your jewels and have a play.
